Year 1 and 2 Maths - Adding on a Number Line
In this video Mr Newport demonstrates how we teach our children to add single and double digit numbers together on a number line. This method would be taught in Years 1 and 2. Children will also use this method moving into Year 3 until they are ready to move on.
Column Addition
This method will be taught to most children Year 4 and up. Please avoid using it if it is new to your child.

This method is for children in Year 4 and up.
