As a parent or carer there will be many times during your child’s life when you will observe your child’s resilience being tested. Whether it is friendship difficulties, managing change, or dealing with loss. You may find yourself looking for ways that you can help your child to feel better. There are a number of ways to help your child become more resilient. This includes ways to better manage the ups and downs that life can bring.

HeadStart Kent is a preventative programme for 10 to 16 year olds to help improve emotional resilience and avoid mental health issues in adulthood. It is a programme for young people and co-produced by young people.

HeadStart Kent helps young people understand and look after their own emotional wellbeing. It also helps ‘trusted adults’ have conversations with young people to recognise and build on their strengths.

The HeadStart Kent Programme is there to support schools to become resilient and improve the emotional wellbeing of their young people.

We have become a HeadStart School and are therefore committed to promote ways to build resilience and create a safe space for our children at The Churchill.
