This afternoon, we thought we would finish your homeschooling with a fun 'how to draw' session. Today we will practise drawing a t-rex, a baby dinosaur and a bronotsaurus. You will need plain paper and a pencil or felt pen.
Today we will be doing some arithmetic. We will be playing 4 games to help us practise our careful counting, our adding and subtracting and counting in 2s and 5s. Grab your numberline and hundred square to help you. You don't need to write anything down today. Have fun!
We will be adding the final part of our diary entries today. You may wish to record this onto an electronic device. First, we will read an example of the final events, searching for the adjectives, verbs and adverbs. Can you beat the teacher?
Today we will be practising to read real and alien words with our new 'oe' sound in. You can have a go at the game 'dragons den' on phonics play (details in the video) and there is a challenge to write two sentences using two of the oe words on the screen aswell. So you will need your home school book for that.
Today we will be recapping what we learnt about Mary Anning and then we will be having a go at drawing our own fossils. You will need some plain paper and a pencil to sketch your fossils. Be ready to pause the video when you decide which fossil you would like to draw. I will be holding some real fossils up to the camera for you to observe and draw. You could also look on google for some different types of fossils to draw of you wish to.
Today we will be consolidating our numbers to 50. Your learning will take place during the video lesson today, so make sure you have your blue maths homeschool book ready and a pencil. You will also need your hundred square today. Be ready to pause the video whenever you need to, if you need more time to work out the answers.
We will read our diary entries so far and check our punctuation. We will then add speech bubbles as the next part of our diaries.
Today we are learning the 'oe' sound and will be practsising to read words with this sound in it today. There is a sheet for afterwards available on the website to read the words and join them to the correct picture. If you don't have a printer, then an adult can write the words into your book for you to read, or you can read them on the screen and draw a line with your finger to join the word tp the correct picture.
We will recap the five main animal groups today. You will then choose an animal from one of the groups to draw and colour. We would love to see your pictures next week and we will be adding them to our display of the five animal groups in our classroom. Make sure you write which group your animal belongs to. :)
Today we will be looking at number patterns. There is a sheet on the website for afterwards, for you to work out the number patterns and fill in the missing numbers. Or an adult can write these numbers into your books, for you to complete the missing numbers. Have your home school book/some paper ready and your hundred square for the lesson.
We will be writing the first part of our diary entries today. You will need your story maps and you can bring your favourite toy to this session too. :)
Today we are continuing with the 'ew' sound. Have your home school book ready to practise writing some 'ew' words with me during the lesson, then afterwards there is a 'ew' make and break sheet to complete. Choose an initial, middle and final sound to create as many 'ew' words as you can. If you don't have a printer, you can write the words that you create straight into your book. There is also a QR code available to watch a short video too.
We will be recreating a painting by Paul Klee in our Art lesson today: Cat and Bird. You will need paper and a pencil. Choose how you would like to colour your image. You could use crayons, colour pencils, paints or even collage.
Today we will be finding 'how much more'. We will be looking at two numbers and finding the difference between the smallest and greatest number. You will need some paper/ whiteboard and a pen and your hundred square during the lesson. There is a sheet on the website for afterwards to complete. If you don't have a printer, then draw the tens and ones straight into your homeschool book.
We will continue to explore key words in our story: Katie and the Dinosaurs. First, we will act out some verbs and adverbs. Next, tell a partner what Katie is doing in each picture and add the verbs / adverbs to the images.
Today we will learning a new phase 5 sound- ew. We will be reading words with the 'ew' sound and there is a roll and read game to play afterwards if you would like to. This is available on the website. . You will need the sheet, colouring pencils to colour or tick off the words that you read, and a dice.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
