School Uniform Policy Summary

At our school, we believe that a school uniform helps create a sense of belonging, promotes equality and supports a positive learning environment. We are committed to ensuring our uniform is inclusive, affordable and practical for all families.

Equality and Inclusion

Our uniform policy follows the Equality Act 2010. We:

• Do not base uniform items on gender – pupils may choose what they feel most comfortable wearing.
• Respect cultural and religious beliefs, including the wearing of headscarves and religious symbols.
• Allow reasonable adjustments to the uniform where required. Parents/carers should contact Mrs Stone (Headteacher) to discuss any requests.

Keeping Uniform Costs Low

We aim to keep uniform costs as low as possible by:

• Limiting the number of branded items.
• Allowing most uniform items to be purchased from supermarkets or high-street retailers.
• Avoiding frequent changes to uniform requirements.
• Offering pre-loved (second-hand) uniform through the school office.

Our Uniform at a Glance

Winter:

• Grey trousers, shorts or skirt (with black or grey tights if worn)
• Yellow polo shirt
• Navy sweatshirt, fleece or cardigan with school logo
• Black shoes with black soles

Summer:

• Grey shorts or skirt
• Any coloured, unbranded polo shirt or gingham dress
• Navy sweatshirt, fleece or cardigan with school logo
• Black shoes with black soles

Jewellery, Hair and Appearance

• Jewellery is not permitted for health and safety reasons, except for small religious items and simple ear studs.
• Earrings must be removed or covered for PE (staff cannot remove them).
• Make-up and nail varnish should not be worn.
• Headscarves may be worn for religious reasons.

While we do not insist on a branded PE Kit, we ask that you stick closely to Navy/Black, thank you.
