Introduction and School Values

This is the first video ever uploaded to the Churchill Explains YouTube channel! Mr Newport gives us a brief introduction to the channel and explains are school values and why they are so important.

Year 1 and 2 Maths - Adding on a Number Line

In this video Mr Newport demonstrates how we teach our children to add single and double digit numbers together on a number line. This method would be taught in Years 1 and 2. Children will also use this method moving into Year 3 until they are ready to move on.

Column Subtraction Year 4, 5 & 6

In this video, Mr Newport explain how to subtract large number for children in Years 4, 5 and 6.

Column Addition Year 4, 5 & 6

This method will be taught to most children Year 4 and up. Please avoid using it if it is new to your child.

Basic Counting - Year R

Mr Newport explains how to work on some basic counting techniques with young children.
