The Churchill School Girls vs Castle Hill Girls
Match report
Nerves filled the air ahead of our first game of the season, but there was also a real buzz of excitement from the sidelines as families gathered to cheer on the Super Churchill School girls.
Churchill started on the front foot and didn’t take long to make their mark. An early breakthrough came from Jaycee-Rae, who smashed the ball past the keeper in style. A huge cheer erupted from the sideline - none louder than her mum, beaming from ear to ear.
Soon after, Churchill won a free kick just outside the box from a very difficult angle. Up stepped Esmee, who produced a superb strike to fire it home and double the lead. At 2–0, Churchill were cruising.
Kiesza was relentless in midfield, constantly winning the ball back and driving the team forward. Her determination set the tone, and her dad’s excitement grew with every interception and tackle.
At the back, Evie, Manda and Lexi were rock solid, clearing everything that came their way and giving Castle Hill no opportunity to settle. From a Churchill corner, the ball bounced around the box before falling kindly to Manda, who reacted quickest to smash it home and make it three.
Esmee continued to pull the strings, driving forward with purpose and firing passes all over the pitch - much to the delight of the travelling supporters.
Just before half-time, Bella pounced on a mix-up between the Castle Hill keeper and centre-back, calmly slotting home to make it 4–0 as Churchill went into the break in complete control.
The second half began with Churchill sensing more opportunities, but Castle Hill applied early pressure. However, Lexi, Manda and Ellie stood firm, staying composed and clearing their lines confidently to protect the clean sheet.
Churchill battled throughout the second half, showing resilience and teamwork to see the game out professionally.
The final whistle blew: Castle Hill 0–4 Churchill School.
What a start to the campaign - a dominant performance, a clean sheet, and three well-earned points on the road.
