Our Year 6 children took part in a project called 'Reel Lives' that involved African drumming and Indian dance activities organised by Music for Change.

In its first year the children worked with Usifu Jalloh, a musician from Sierra Lione.

Usifu ran workshops with the children that culminated in a performance to parents and the rest of the school

In the second year of the project the children worked with Sujata Banerjee, an Indian dancer.
Sujata taught the children a traditional Indian story through dance. The children performed to the school and their parents. The teachers also took part in a twilight training session

The project has helped to raise awareness of the arts in other cultures and the childrens' experiences have been turned into a DVD that can be used as a teaching resource by other schools.
